Consultation and Provision of Information

Information Services
1) Introducting the activities of TIA and other international groups on the TIA website.
2) Publishing a quarterly journal that includes TIA activities and event information.
3) Broadcasting TIA produced program on the TOCHIGI TV.
Support for International Understanding Education
1) We run an international understanding club for elementally school kids called
"WAI WAI CHIKYUKKO CLUB"
2) We run an internatinal understanding club for high school students called "CLUB LYCEE"
3) We support primary, junior-high and high school teachers with their international understanding education.
4) We present seminars for the residents of Tochigi prefecture to promote intenational understanding.
Assistance to Civil International Exchange Associations and Promotion of Teaching Japanese Volunteers
1)We support and cooperate with private international exchange associations and groups to promote active international exchange.
2)We promote teaching Japanese language volunteer activities with various programs.
Events of International Exchange and Cooperation
We hold various events such as "Tochigi International Festival", which is designed to promote international exchange and uplift the residents' awareness of internatinal cooperation.
Friendship Exchange
We receive and send groups of people abroad to promote friendly relations with China, France and the US.
International Cooperation
We host technical trainees and exchange students who are Japanese descendents and support the Tochigi Alumni Association of Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. We also provide financial assistance to international students residing in Tochigi.
HIT Bank
We ask your kind assistance with signing up for the following banks.
(1)Host family Bank:
To introduce Japanese lifestyle and family structure through a hosting foreign guests.
(2)Instructor Bank:
To teach and to give lectures on your interests such as traditional culture, cooking, sports, etc.
(3)Translator Bank:
To translate documents and/or to serve as interpreter at various functions such as receptions welcoming guests from abroad and exchange programs between guests and residents of Tochigi prefecture.
Foreign Residents' Network(Tochigi Communication Network)
If you sign up for TCN, we send you various information and ask your assistance by taking part in cross-cultural programs to deepen our mutual understandings.
The Tochigi International Center
(1) Exchange Lounge
You'll find tourist information of cities and towns in Tochigi, newspapers and magazines in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Korean, Chinese and Japanese.
Also, you can use PCs for Internet browsing for free of charge.
(2) Library
The library includes not only books but also videotapes and DVDs, and we lend out those for free. CATV and teletext broadcasting are available at the multi-media corner. National flags are also available to lend out.
3) Message Board
We provide message boards for your information exchange.
