To foreign residents who have suffered from the Typhoon 19(Hagibis.)(Updated: Oct. 19)

■Information from Immigration Services Agency in Japan
For those who couldn’t apply for status of residents by the expired date because of the disaster of Typhoon 19(Hagibis,) can temporarily apply for them individually even they are expired. Please consult the nearest Immigration office.


■Opening Evacuation Centers for voluntary evacuees (Sano-city)
Predicting more rainfall in the afternoon on Oct.18th (Fri,) Sano-city opens two evacuation centers for voluntary evacuees as below.
・Tanuma Chuo Kominkan (Tanuma central community center) 1-1 Tonara-cho
・Kuzuu Akuto Fukushi Center (Kuzuu Akuto welfare Center) 3084 Akuto-cho
Following two evacuation centers have been continuously operating.
・Moroyama Rojin Fukushi Center (Moroyama Rojin Welfare Center) 10-1 Moroyama-cho
・Himuro-chiku Kominkan (Himuro ward Community Center) 847 Mizuki-cho

■Things to be careful with
There is a high chance of theft and vicious business in the disaster-affected area.
Houses with no one easily become a target from the criminals. Lock up doors and windows, and just in case, keep the valuable belongings with you.
There is also a chance of fraud pretending free house inspection, repairing, demolishing, and renovating companies.
When you ask for repairing or renovating your house, do not make a contract instantly. Consult people around such as your family or a consumer center before you decide.   (Information from Kanuma Police Station)

■Disaster Victim Certificate (Risai shoumeisho)
a Disaster Victim Certificate is to certify the damage of houses caused by a disaster.
First, apply for the certificate at your local municipality. Then, the certificate is issued by the municipality after the investigation. You need a disaster victim certificate to get a support fund or to claim for insurance. Please consult your local municipality after cleaning settle down.
What to bring: Driver’s license card or resident’s card, photo images that show the damages, personal seal, etc.

■Recruitment of disaster volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to clean up the houses that were damaged by the typhoon.
For those who can volunteer, apply at the local volunteer center.
*You need to sign up for volunteer insurance and pay the premium (350-710 yen).
*You also need to prepare everything you need for your activities, such as hats, rubber gloves, masks, boots, food and drinks.

・Some disaster waste such as tires cannot be collected.
Except for waste from the typhoon, please put it out at the garbage station on the designated day of the week.

■Take a photo when you clean up!
In the future, you may be able to receive assistance (such as money for repairs) from the government which damaged from the typhoon.
Please take a picture of the damaged area before cleaning.

Segregate properly the disaster wastes of typhoon 19 (Hagibis) into 4 types below and bring them to the place below. You cannot bring the waste other than the disaster wastes.

1. Combustible garbage (tree and bush waste)
2. Tatami, Futon
3. Chest, bet
4. TV, wash machine, air conditioner, refrigerator
